Want

Want

A Poem by Placenta

I want to take the silken pads of your fingers
and plant tiny little kisses upon them
each press of my lips making your cheeks bloom like rosebuds

I want to take the fear you have stored in your heart
and put it away in a little chest
lock and key and hide it under the deepest part of the ocean.

I want to take this distance between us
and crumple it together
each mile becoming a step beneath my feet

I want to take you, so beautiful and pure
and hold you close like the treasure you are
I wish, I could make you see how precious you've become to me.
