Summer's Heat

Summer's Heat

A Poem by Lizzy

Summer's Heat.

The sun balances its light on my back.

Supplying me the warmth that I usually lack.

It rubs on my skin a darker shade.

Which, by winter, shall gently fade

The painful power of the summer's heat,

Is something we all consider a treat.

A fantastic excuse for ice cream and swimming.

But the days of summer are quickly slimming.

Goodbye, dear summer, I will surely miss you.

But now I must prepare for Autumn's debut.
