Risen to Live

Risen to Live

A Poem by Melinda McQueen
"

He's risen!

"

Heaven was quiet

As the earth mourned.

For the Light which had been lit

Was now scorned.

The sins of the world hung on a cross

In a body which housed a sinless soul,

So Jesus may pay the cost

And let His Blood flow.

Lifeless in the tomb

His body lay.

Waiting to be once more used

In a glorious display.

For on the third day

The Savior rose again.

Because of the God-ordained fate,

Risen to live, having fully conquered sin.

Every lost soul can find hope "

A reason to live, a reason to believe.

Just look to Christ who lives on,

The supplier of your every need.

Let us be transformed in our hearts

And renew in us the Light God gives.

For we have been ransomed from the dark

And risen to live.
