Night Divine

Night Divine

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Cold and darkness

Filled the whole earth.

All were seeking rest,

A new life, a new birth.

High above,

A star shone bright.

Birthed of love,

Night Divine.

Ordained to be holy,

Set apart from all others.

For there was a new baby

Born to a new mother.

The glory of heaven

Nestled in a warm, breathing baby was Christ.

Love came to the inn,

Night divine.

A tender heart found its beat

In a world He created.

Sin would He defeat,

Heavy laden.

Eyes twinkling as that star,

The perfect Guide.

Bringing souls to the Father’s heart,

Night divine.
