His Queen

His Queen

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

His Queen

Wearing the dress that awaited me,

My dream was complete.

Down the aisle was I led,

Veil and crown upon my head;

I was his queen.

Short and ever so sweet. The opening line is sublime as a draw into the poem.
