this Boy

this Boy

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

There is a secret as big as imaginations for unicorns,

still burning like dragonfire

inside a memory of a summer love

when mistakes are unforgivable and kisses

sting wth wonderful discovery;

loss of a friend, a brother, an ear to hear

his sleep

is colorless,

and now in banana republic

leathers

he paints his nights with rainbow smoke

dancing to forget

the forever when he awoke

finding music

finally - when they spoke

excitedly

yet dividedly

a hoax...

this boy is lost without

but learns how

to wear his heavy coat

in a winter

that won't

let him go...
