When I Die I Must Wonder Part 2

When I Die I Must Wonder Part 2

A Poem by RIch Hilliard
"

A poem pondering the question "how will I die?"

"
When I die I must wonder How It will Happen?
Will it be by heart attack or death by a stabbing?

Will it be by accident or will I be Murdered?
Will it be a disease that nobody heard of?

Will it be in a terrorist attack or will it be cancer?
So many possibilites, I just don't have the answer.

Will it be when I"m walking or when I'm running?
Whatever it is, I hope I won't see it coming!

Will it be when I'm asleep or when I'm awake?
I just want God to know, my soul is his to take.

the rhyming scheme in the first two stanzas doesn't really work, in my opnion, but the rest flowed magnificently. As for the message, I think we all wonder about death from time to time. "The tragedy of man is that he can never stop thinking of his own demise." -I can't remember the author lol

hmmm It seems like your thinking about this an awful lot? At any rate, a very good poem. have you ever heard of the song "If I die young" By the band perry? That's all I can think about when I read this or the other poem. Death is an Erie subject, perhaps you could write a poem that's exactly the opposite of this one? Like...One about life? Im not sure. Anyways, keep it up! (:

I don't know - I think when we ponder our inevitable deaths, we grow in our lives here on earth. Good ink, Rich!

This is one question that many people think about but to be quite honest I don't and never have. I don't want to know how or when I am going to die. It makes like easier and better when you don't know. This poem is still a good poem and the rhyme scheme is good.

Old Native American wisdom. If you look quick enough. Turn your head to your left shoulder. Death is always waiting. I believe we have choices that will decrease and increase a life. A good diet. No bad habits and a positive mind will extend a life. I agree with the fast death. I watched men die from agent orange. Cancer would be a terrible way to go. A excellent poem. You made me think.

This is yet another great poem, with a quirky fun element. I choose to focus on life, we are all going to leave this planet so I want to know I've lived my life they way I want! Thanks for sharing.
