Angel PromisesA Poem by Poetic License
I long to touch the sore spots of your heart,
To caress them, wrap them in warmth, To place the softest kiss upon each bruise, Hoping to make it all better. I wish I could stand guard just outside your heart, To proclaim no admittance to visiting emotions, Allowing you quiet and rest, so long overdue, Protecting your healing journey as you have mine. If only I could return the gifts you have lavished on me, So that you may feel such warmth and care, Finding a place safe to nestle and seek answers, A secret place to cry where none will see the tears. Your path is not mine and I cannot see your hurts, I simply know that you hurt and wish that I could help heal it, I shall hover until you have need, wings outstretched and shielding, Close enough to catch you, should you need to fall apart. © 2017 Poetic LicenseReviews
