Be Still My HeartA Poem by Poetic LicenseBe still my heart, Pause and listen, Did you hear that? That, dear soul, Is the sound of now, A sound of silence. A perfect silence, Made more so, The longer you remain. It is your listening, Which gives it meaning, Otherwise, it is lost. To the prattle of time, Admidst the docket of tasks, Within the destruction of self. Be still my heart, Hear the intake of breath, And sacred echo of your beat. Feel the earth fall away, Upon exhale of breath, And remain. You are alive, You are beating, You are listening. Listen closer, Perceive greater, The vast nothing of all. Where you will learn, All you need to know, To be still.
