Again

Again

A Poem by Poetic License

I slip from the shore,
I can't find energy to care,
The surf is swallowing me,
Drawing me out,
Drawing me away,
Drawing me,
Drawing me,
Drawing,
I have no strength,
To want to fight,
To possess ferocity,
Enough to want,
Anything.

I will slide from this place,
In hushed morning hours,
Before gulls wake,
Before moon sleeps,
Before the world knows,
I was not enough,
Again.

I felt the thoughts and the struggle in the words. The poem made me feel the emptiness of never doing or being enough. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Lord, did this pain me to read. I relate to every last drop of blue and grey in this piece. Especially recently. But, moments like the one you described in your writing, while not as fleeting as good feelings, do break the ground for us to begin again, to build again.

This was beautiful.
