Letting Go....

Letting Go....

A Poem by Yellow Butterfly

Fell upon deaf ears
cried many tears
Ignored the signs
Read between the lines
Loved you so much
Said you would keep in-touch
I believed everything
you never did ring
All the lies and deceit
I could not compete
It was never to last
You are now in my past
I have no more hate
You were never my fate
You made her your wife
nearly ruined my life
No longer together
couldn't love you forever
After all these years apart
she broke your heart
Although you did me wrong
listen to this song
I just want you to know
it was hard to let you go
My heart carries no malice
you know I was never jealous
All I wish for you now
is that you recover
 somehow

"I hope"

Yellow Butterfly,
People are complex as are our relationships with one another. Even when there is an end to it or falling out the process is so individual in how it is dealt with. Your "Letting go" shows your own step by step proceess within the heart. I found your line ," ignored all the signs, read between the lines.' How many times do we hear and see what we would wish for? and the line, "All the lies and deceit, I could not compete." I love how your eyes are now seeing more truly." the rest of this little story is very real and vulnerable then ends in a gracious release saying, "All I wish for you now is that you recover............somehow..............blessings to you..............Kathy

You know...this one I can relate to completely... we have all gone through broken hearts...and this one is universal in its appeal!

Oh I have a real problem with 'letting go'....so this one hits home for me. Muchly enjoyed the music too of course YB. ;-) I was thinking 'set me free, why dontcha babe', but that one has been stuck in my head for some reason. Enjoyed!

Letting go is the hardest thing to do, but once you have made it, there will be peace from deep inside your heart...

Nice rhyme and rhythm. Remarkable piece.

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all ! A famous quote and there is merit in the words as when the heartache subsides, it is replaced with a deep inner strength of character, so evidently portrayed through your poetic words !

A heartfelt write penned with positive conviction !

My heart carries no malice"

Sad tale that happens every day and unfoutunate one. I'm glad the narrator does not hold mailce for that is a sign of a forgiving , loving heart...The rhyme was also wonderful...
The song fit the subject marvelously...:)...........

My pleasure...You are welcome...:)..................
I was told once, "never trust anyone, not even yourself"...
It is sad to find out that the one you think you could trust with your heart, is indeed a liar... (I know this is unlike me, but I truly felt the conviction in your voice...your heartbreaker pisses me off!)...

A well deserved Karma... ;)

This is electrifying, Lady Butterfly... I felt this in my bones...Awesome write!~xoxo~

Thank you for your kind words..... time is a great healer and Karma is what it is.... I wish him no.. read more
Such a beautiful poem. I like that each line seems to be an individual thought in and of itself nonetheless connected to each other. That takes some skill! Beautiful message too; that one survives heartbreak and somehow lets go only to wish the other person the same ability to bounce back and move on. Great poem!
