Words we say break down the barrier

That we keep in our minds

The one that keeps our thoughts in

The one that lies

Those lies have to be told

Those words must be said

And in the end,

It all hurts

Because it's the truth

We cry out for the truth

We long for it

But when we hear it

It all changes

We wish we could take it back

But, we can't

Those words that we spoke

The truth that we said

We can never let go of them

We say things we don't mean

We say things that hurt

When we're fighting

Those things slip out

They inflict pain

They cause sorrow

We can't take back those words

But, we can say one thing

To make it all okay
