Cupped Droplets

Cupped Droplets

A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver

You are so gentle
in your constant flow
over this face
that feels ancient
age, unknown

All the reflections
you have the courage to show
seem so far away
from my grasp
yet, they are my own

I let you fall
to remind me
that I have lived
because of late
I feel the grip of death

You are so gentle
so warm
salty to the taste
like the ocean of life
upon my face

If only...

a mixture of sadness and courage to be who we are...and others who accept that of us and about us.

we need to feel the pulse of life, because death is wanting to lay its hand upon us...but the ocean of life at the same time is breathing its salty air upon us...

if only, we can embrace it.

Captured moments in loving embrace and if only it would last through out life.
Longing for recreating that feeling again.

Loved those lines and I loved this poem. Tears are such a essential part of life. You captured that very well.
Well done :)

Seems to be of tears, tears that make a person realise that hurt, love - or the absence of love, comes and goes, touches, waves goodbye. Tears remind one that life and tears flow together, yes, like an ocean, calm or wild. 'I let you fall ~ to remind me that I have lived ~ because of late I feel the grip of death.'

A sad and beautiful poem, touches places, beckons thought, dear Poppy.
