A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver

The satellites lie
there is nothing
to be decoded
that could be considered
all is illusion
such falsity
we cloak ourselves in
shrouded as the mysteries
of creation
layer upon layer
we were never meant
to find diamonds
only a sunrise
that warms us
perhaps a story
here or there
that resonates within
we were never meant
to find rubies
they were covered by ash
long ago
truth is
my soul still seeks
it isn't just the satellites
that distort
humanity has chosen
to blur their vision
third eye included

Eloquent, honest pessimism over here...sadness is one of the instances where deception seems helpful.

Depth and simplicity. Yes, we weren't meant to covet the material things of this earth, it is folly that we do.

Your mystic soul awakens light from our mists within. Makes me wonder of our world, how little of it we truly see; third eye included. Yes, for what is merely veiled and what is illusion that we put our faith in. Trying to pause and let myself sink a little deeper into the sea and the vast wild sky.

Satellites are the biggest lie humanity has manufactured as they block the vision to the truthful stars and transport barge of lies to manipulate the humanity and turn them into puppets. Make sense without losing sensibilities.

Another stellar piece that sounds eerily familiar to something I'd written, but hadn't posted here. Great minds think alike. Such a sobering piece. It really brings things down to earth, all while retaining the surreal tone that makes it such a standout.

Fantastic job, yet again.

We made ourselves in cosmic onions then - just as we were about perfect cosmic onions we went and started to put on fake plastic layers and became a parody of our Selves.
I can taste the frustration in this one Poppy -
