Remember His Words

Remember His Words

A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver
"

Nighttime hours have a tone of their own...

"

She says

there is a light in here somewhere

except unlike her

I can't turn it on

It's only mortal blues

lips whisper and lie

only the death

of all you have known

rumbles a restless sky

Like the leaves in autumn

not all destruction is ugly

he softly reminds me

So many broken things

where is the thread

strong enough to mend

the strangled seams

Faith

rise from your slumber

I'm cold

sacrificed myriad dreams

unseen

in a final attempt

to redeem

a battered soul

So many broken things

strangled at the seams

I have become nothing more

than a fragile beat

blurred

like the tattered wings

of a lonely bird

I'm not following this as a cohesive message -- getting mixed up with the "he, she, me" pronouns & how it all fits together. But that doesn't matter, becuz it's still a good read with poignant observations on nighttime hell. The third stanza is brilliant & thought-provoking. I also love references to broken things, needing thread to sew together strangled seams . . . this is your strongest analogy thread thru-out.

You write as if you are using what is in your inter soul and a heartfelt bleeding of memories unfold. Tearing up for your heartache so many of us suffer this fate a lover walks away with no intention of return a lost love remains in your heart for ever and for always Love sometimes hurts it smarts a ripping throughout the heart Healing may find its way and may your love life see you through better days Best wishes to you and a blessing from God above for God is Love.

the third and fifth stanzas are beautifully eloquent, especially with the threads motifs and the unique image of tattered bird wings xx

Thank you very much :)
A very powerful write. Words of desperation searching and hoping for a ray of light. You have beckoned faith and ultimately it is faith that will keep you going. Faith in yourself and faith in the entity that has always seen us through. I loved this poem and will re read it again

Shabeeh, thank you, I really appreciate your thoughts :)
Darkness is hard to conquer but when a little ray of hope appears darkness starts to wash out... F.A.I.T.H = Full assurance in the heart, there is a lot of imagery in the poem that really reflects through your gorgeous words... A very thought provoking write dear frnd...

Sincerely
Dhiman

Thank you Dhiman...your words are valued :)
There is a powerful desperation in your words here, Poppy. Unfortunately, the only thing to get you through in times such as these is YOU....you and your words. Faith in yourself....not in any deity or person....can get you through. We all need to see a light....a promise that the situation will improve. The emotions in this one are intense...and beautifully expressed. Lydi**

Thank you Ria, I appreciate your kindness :)
I feel like two people are trying to convince you here
-one trying to force you to find a blessing within when things are dark
-one softly showing you the leaves falling is ok

Just so true- so many broken things- how can we even wrap our minds around them?

I love the call out to Faith to rise- the plea.
Thanks- a great one.

Thank you Bacchus, your insight is valued and appreciated :)
The struggle to remain afloat in hardship
its no easy walk through the park
the imagery here brings this battle to life

it is brought to life through your words
