Hjörþrimul

Hjörþrimul

A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver
"

A warrior returned adapts to modernity and finds truth within themselves...

"

She was a warrior
before she returned
her sword her oath
wielded for justice
modernity recreated her
into a different warrior
now her pen delivers
the strike to her enemies
of which the shadows are many
each negative thought struck down
left to writhe in mud
each depressive notion
swiftly at the mercy of ink
left to shrivel in the light
modernity recreated her
into a different warrior
ink replaced the sword
now she writes in blood red

learned something about Norse mythology, a valkyrie. this being a personification of "The pen is mightier than the sword". the modernity spilling truth & emotions to paper now. tough imagery with a positive, cvonstructive transformation. this captures and holds. very cleverly constructed. "ink replaced the sword
now she writes in blood red" - indeed well put. there is a lot here with a wonderful deepness. i really like this one ...

Norse Mythology Leslie, indeed, thank you :)
Comparison of the old ways and new ways of striking someone down. Think I prefer the sword. Lol love your details and comparisons as always Dear Poppy

lol Aye...thank you lovely :)
'.. modernity recreated her ~ into a different warrior ~ ink replaced the sword _ now she writes in blood red .. '

An incredible two-way lesson taught: a truly visual though mythological woman and the power of her words (and indeed, many similar words).

More often or not you have the same ability! As ever, worth yet another visit

Dear you, thank you, always xx
Very fascinating warrior indeed. She fights with the mightiest sword of all - her pen. Her words are her ammunition, who can withstand justice when it comes.

Beautiful you...smiles ♥
These days the wrong word can lead to defamation. The pen can shape a person's life just as bullying on facebook. Mythology is just fascinating was not up to speed on this Norse mythology.Nicely written Poppy.
