Ripples

Ripples

A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver
"

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart ― Helen Keller

"

Humbleness
an inhalation that pains
because your soul aches
yet music has the gift
of dripping intricately
through every cold dream
for what is death but life
in death we see our life
and it ripples on
sometimes poetry
is the crumbs
we leave behind
so others find light

A beautiful little meditation on the things that make us human Poppy. Humbleness allows us insight, music takes us to another place. Death the final leveller and I particularly like the final lines about poetry. Great work.

a very interesting poem Poppy, in life and death we are but the Souls expressing Our Own Music through Poetic thoughts gliding through the Universe, let those who find the light of crumbs turn them into loaves of Poetry....much love my friend...

this reads like a score in music with profundity of thought. Very good.

I liked this one, especially the "crumbs" -- cleverly placed at the poem's ending. Nice work!

I loved the last para
poetry
is the crumbs
we leave behind
so others find light

Poetry is often the expression of writer consumed by the reader but it paints a beautiful picture in the end. that is the beauty of our art form

'sometimes poetry
is the crumbs
we leave behind
so others find light'

So agree with this. We write to be remembered through our words...
Very serene write.

opening line is so strong .. for most a difficult lesson to learn eh!? i admire how you say it Poppy ..your poem weaves a life in tapestry seemingly with ease .. a fine read for me ..something to take away into my day today .. and the music is haunting, dissonant and calming all at once ... then spirits lifted and gently floated ... nice accompaniment for your poem "Ripples" ... wouldn't change a thing :)

music can soothe the soul,
when you drop those crumbs,it`s not so cold

this has so much as it waxes philosophically- honesty, beauty, depth. lovely with a powerful ending. its lasting impact lingers (just like those ripples) ...
