Butterflies and bees

Butterflies and bees

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Among the anise hyssop long-blooming blue flower spikes

"
Close to my heart on a garden path

I revel in the sunlight on coneflowers bright...

Butterflies and bees pollinate the blossoms

where songbirds sing among the tall verbena...

Hollyhocks greet me with passionate smiles

Cardinal flowers and Cosmos beckon...

as bees yearn for loves nectar

A sanctuary lives where love remains...

I very much enjoy your gracefully-stated descriptions of many different flowering encounters in the garden! Good use of alliteration in line 3 especially. Since I'm a color-aholic, I kinda miss seeing any color in your excellent descriptions. But I definitely love the vivid imagery you weave.

Once again you have delivered a Naturalist's delight with your softly flowing descriptions of the garden in all it's glorious bloom.

So many different flowers mentioned here....and many an amateur greenthumb like myself has never heard of! I shall consult my friend Google for closer inspection!

Another fine write, Pat. The Butterflies and Bees are living in a paradise on earth.

Growing hardy Echinacea and Rudbeckia is a great way to attract butterflies and bees to the garden. Love the imagery here … creates a poetic cascade of nature’s vibrant beauty. Bless ………
