'' The Broken Rose ''

'' The Broken Rose ''

A Story by Dwayne J. Keeves
"

A little girl discovers the broken rose has life.

"
One sunny day a little girl asked her mom; '' May I go out to play? '' Her mom looked at her, and said; '' Yes '' reluctantly. The rain had fallen softly just the night before.
Out the door ran the little girl Bell to her grounds of play. As she ran to her swing, she noticed a rose bush puffy and filled with roses.
'' There are so many roses!'' Bell thought to herself, plucking one from the bush.
Bell's mom watched every now and again out the kitchen window to be sure Bell was safe.
Across the yard Bell ran once again making her way to the door. '' Mommy! Mommy! '' Bell cried out. Her mother rushed to the door, heart racing in fear. Did she happen to miss Bell's sudden fall, or some other mishaps along the way?
Bell stood kindly at the door, with one hand hidden out of view. '' What's wrong!'' her mother
said; holding worry tight on her face.
Then out of no where came a surprise! That hidden thing behind Bell's back.
Her mom's smile danced bigger than Bell's '' Bell; where did you get such a
beautiful rose?'' her mom asked. '' Off the bush you said was dead!'' Bell said.
Taking Bell by her hand, Bell and mom walked to the rose garden. The garden Bell's mom
thought was dead and useless was now springing with life.
They both stood admiring the rose bush. '' I guess; although something that looks worn and broken doesn't always mean it's really broken!'' said Mom.

                                                   The End!

I was scared and held my breath. Perhaps there was a snake in the bush! But was delighted by the happy ending. There is such a beautiful message in this sweet, little story of hope...

Yes and enjoyed so much!
Hope springs up from unlikely places. That's the way of God reminding us that He has something grander coming up from the ruins.
