Thick As Water

This is a poem I just wrote that I finally found the words for. I've been having some hard times with my sister, her choices and how she's been treating me.

Understanding is withstanding sharp, rusty nails being thrust under the fingernail

Listening is the blood that leaks away, discusting... then weak

watching is screaming for the nails to go deeper - its more tolerable

Weeping only burns, reflected by the impenatrable acid bubble

Loving seems to add to the rancid, cotton residue

Utterances fall silent on plugged ear


              With all lost, the breaking of our tie, only a dull fading scar...

This is a very powerful piece with some great morbid images that float around your mind like a finger floating in a pool of blood. This makes the reader feel the pain and the emotions in here. This is a great piece and very powerful for a short poem. My only thing would be the use of Nails and fingernails for some reason it felt a little too repetitive but i don't think it takes away from the poem, it's probably me going through my caffiene withdrawls lol... A great Piece. Good Job!
