Ernie the Cat

Ernie the Cat

A Poem by Tom Friel

I once had a cat
Six toes at that
He liked to sip my gin
That’s where this begins

He was old, fat and furry
And his eyes always blurry
How he loved to sip my gin
And later steal my pen

Where have you gone?
My little kitty-kitty
Please come home
My little pretty-pretty

Are you out writing a book
A story, or a poem?
Are you out stabbing mice?
When you’re not here at home

Just where are you now?
You goddamn cat!
If you're drunk on your a*s
Bring my pen back?

The 'out stabbing mice' really got me hehe ^__^ I can't get the image of a tomcat brandishing a pocket knife out of my head. Very cute!
