Wallflower

Wallflower

A Poem by Prismgirl

You do not hear me

When my soul aches,

You do not hear me

When I whisper your name.

Your eyes see me.

You have no problem watching

And nodding

And smiling and laughing,

But you do not hear a single word I say.

I could talk for hours and still

Nothing would change.

You would not know

 a single thing about me.

So this  time I wonder

If you'll hear me when I say

Goodbye,

Or you'll even notice

That I'm gone,

Or if one day you'll look around

And realize something is missing

And not even know

What it is.

I'm sure an element of this must have come from bartending. Relationships can be difficult when two are not attuned to each other.

We know there are people with different sex drives, but are there people with different emotional drives as well? I wonder.

Nice poem.

Hey. It is very relatable. Since many of us have gone through this especially with our crushes or boyfriends who have taken us for granted or best friends who simply find new ones to replace us. Anyway you've beautifully portrayed emotions into a poem. I really loved it. Good work!!

Those wallflowers can be notice and stole away. I like the flow of thoughts leading to nice closure. Sometimes what you need is in the front of your face and you cannot see. Thank you for sharing the entertaining poem.
