Hush

Hush

A Poem by Caleb

Hush my child, keep close and hear;

Do not wallow in such hopeless fear.

Do not linger on such a mournful note;

Break this cycle, and crack a joke.

Hush my dear, allow me that one;

In times like these, you deserve some fun.

Just… never give up on life and love;

Stop drowning yourself in that lifeless pub.

Hush, just hush. Allow peace to fill

This already taxing bill.

I know you are stronger than this

Just take my hand in love’s bliss.

Hush my love, the tears will soon be gone;

His mark on you and all his wrong

Will wash away with the coming rinse.

Just allow me to be your loving prince.

Hush and stop, think of what's to come

You know this pain is soon to numb,

But the knowledge of that helps those

Who've given up their mournful woes.

Hush, I know that didn’t make much

Sense, but allow me to only touch

On the subject that only we can save;

This love that’s ours to crave.

Hush… You know you’re right, I’ll hush.

No, I’m always this red, I never blush.

Just stay in my arms and never leave;

This love can make it, if two believe.

Caleb,

Thank you for sharing your poem, I read this in the "Hush Little Baby" hymn, which gave it a very powerful string along with your message. I enjoyed this a lot, keep up the good work.

Best regards,
Tristesse
