Nothing is what it seems

Nothing is what it seems

A Poem by Que

Don’t judge a book by its cover

That’s what’s we’re told

For not all show their true color

Or at least to an act, hold

Many hide their identity

Keep it in the dark

They show no clarity

And of it leave no mark

Just putting on a smile

Doesn’t mean you’re cheerful

Going the extra mile

Won’t make you anymore peaceful

Many would rather be fake

Than be who they are

Avoiding any risks to take

But it won’t get them far

Some wear a disguise

Trying to hide a defect

But they don’t realize

The truth is easy to detect

Better be for real

And lose the act

It’ll change how you feel

And this is a fact

Just show your face

Take off the mask

You’ll taste life’s mace

And in harmony you’ll bask
