Oh, The Truth of Love

Oh, The Truth of Love

A Poem by Querida

Oh, deep-seated affection,

how fickle new adoration seems

in comparance with you

the truth that is love

Think of deep-red roses

of the softening of features

of that gentle-hearted smile

of the brimming eyes

Think of spicy incense
prayers for eternal protection

the smoke of a bonfire

the gleeful whoops of youth

Think of silken fingertips

tracing unseen lines

and of vanilla-scented sheets

curled around sleeping forms

Think of skinny dipping

of bare-backed massages

of joking strip games

until there's nothing but flesh

Think of whispered sweet nothings

of the caring gentle words

the meaningful 'i love you's

and the knowledge it's true.
