I Love You, Too

I Love You, Too

A Poem by Meg Craft
"

What love feels like.

"

Please, just whisper it

Sweetly, gently,

Into my ear.

Everything I desperately need to hear

Just those three, tiny words

I need a reminder of why I’m still alive

Something to get me through the day

Something with a similar effect

As alcohol, cuts, or pills

Make my heart stop

Make my breathing heavy

My me feel lightheaded

Just never, ever let me forget

That you love me

And, I promise,

I’ll remind you

I love you, too.
