Hungry

Hungry

A Poem by Meg Craft
"

Starving sucks, you guys.

"

I miss when eating

Wasn’t such a hassle

When food was as simple as breathing

Easy as eating should be

Why can’t I go back to the days

Young, geeky cute me

Who looked in the mirror and thought she looked fine

But now it’s more than that

Now, it’s done to the numbers

It’s all about numbers

And figures without facts

Empty stomachs and pain

One two three

Meals I’ll be skipping

Four five six

Cuts on my arm

Then I give in

To the temptation of taste

But the scars still stay, almost like stains

Decorating my pale arm

Tomorrow, I’ll be sure to try again

The scale hasn’t change yet

The oinking in my head when around food

Better fix the issue
