Today, tomorrow and forever

Today, tomorrow and forever

A Poem by Ria Carol
"

Not knowing where the time went, the poet recalls the memories of the time she spent with the love of her life.

"
"Today, tomorrow and forever", said he
where the time went I will never know.
Only yesterday we were sitting on the bay,
of the great blue sea.

A promise made from the soul,
and a ring to tie the hearts.
Two hearts that came together amongst despair,
and created love.

Encapsulated in the darkness,
he lit my way.
Brighter he made it,
day by day.

Doomed to love,
I look above.
"Today, tomorrow and forever", I say
I will love you,
Till the end of my days.

Very beautiful. A simply blessed little poem.

There is so much truth and reality in this poem. Finding a love, making promises in those moments of bliss, sharing hopes and dreams, binding each other together with the symbolism that the ring represents, only for time to wither away the fruits of that love, until it disappears in the wind.

A very lovely piece of writing, Ria. Longingly written and delicately crafted. Nice work.

Thank you so much for your kinds words :) Im really glad that you liked it.
This message is startlingly real & poignant, pleasantly surprising for one of your age, to be stating how it might feel from a viewpoint of many years ahead. Your poetry style is very graceful & elevated, not a bit elementary, which is also a pleasant surprise. The first stanza is my favorite . . . from there, I could gather your entire scenario & meaning, which is sweet & nostalgic. I'm very impressed!

Thank you so much...i really appreciate your review
I'm not that great at reviewing poetry (actually, to put it quite frankly I suck at it), but I know emotional writing when I see it. You're word flowed beautifully and I loved how it didn't rhyme, but it felt like it did. It was a very likable poem!
When I read the first line I was honestly expecting a tragedy, but I'm happy to say you exceeded my initial expectations. While the piece was, in a way, sad, it was only because it expresses a sentiment that everyone can relate to; even if they've never felt it.
Job well done, and I really liked it! I'm sad I can't be of much help, but poetry isn't my forte :)
