A Girl Of Abuse

Title pretty much explains it. I was inspired to write this because of the domestic violence that happens in NZ.

There is a girl who cries each night
Because she's so scared to face the light
She's so hurt but nothing is being done
She's been suffering since she was only one
Inside she's dying and is in pain
Wondering whether she'll ever be free again
She tries to make the best out of her life
By escaping the grief and defying strife
Her life is full of abuse and rejection
Receiving hate rather than affection
Her father gives her hits and smacks
While even her mother gives her kicks and whacks
Her family doesn't seem to care
Either do they notice she's in despair
She's trying to find a better path to follow
In hope to heal a heart that is hollow
But all she can do is try to survive
Try to stay safe and stay alive
