A Moment of Madness

A Moment of Madness

A Poem by RReddy

A Moment of Madness

I wasn't so bad, never so wrong
No intention to hurt, no complicated lies
Never let vengeance burn, so much to let friendship die
Took no joy in pain, consoled when I heard someone cry
Loved my baby, was happy with my life
But that moment, a moment I can’t deny
A blinding rage, provocative entice
Wild fury, vindictive style
Caustic words & incongruous fight
A maddening day was all I could surmise
Split of second, submission to haste
Overwhelmed by weakness, I lost my stake
Wicked I was, I don’t know why
Careless stance clinched, & now I sigh
I search my soul, but fail to find
Answers to the questions that creep in my mind
Looking for reasons that don’t seem mine
I feel entangled & lost in my dark design
The deed is done, the moment passed
Tears & pain inflicted will linger till the last…
