The Rose of Life

The Rose of Life

A Poem by Light

The Rose of Life

Don't compare me
to flowers
I'm changeable
Like their scents
Bonding with each specialness
A vibrant Light
Wandering through heavens
Break unto earth
When the day sleeps
And the dark calls You up

Find me
When Love is not enough
Dwelling in the soft sighs
of the tall trees
and hear me
Where the pond quivers
Quietly,
to the blow of God's whispers
Shimmering waters
Of my divine presence
My aroma You can sense
Through the chilling drops
Playing with the leafs
Wondrous melodies
Where there is but a little
to hold on to
Hold to that ethereal voice
The little sensation that
Slowly growing inside of You
Lifting You calmly
Like a fluffy cloud

And then…
How genuine they are
The weeping tears
of Your beating heart
Dancing
to the healing symphony
Of my renewal birth
Inside You I bloom
a refreshed feeling
Of Life's Joy

And I…
Can't fail or die
I'm the womb of existence
The breaths of the universe
Wafting over Your being
I'm ever
Your
Eternal Rose.

This offering of the poet's is very spiritual in nature. The Rose of Life seems to be the speaker, but what does it symbolize? Traditionally the rose has been the symbol of love, but here it seems to represent Divine Life itself "When the day sleeps/ And the dark calls you up". This may indicate that the rose is there in life and in death, that it is immortal. The next verse, using multiple beautiful images, tells us that it is everywhere and is experienced in the very senses of the body. Thus it is omnipresent. The next verse speaks of an eternal renewal, despite the sadnesses of life, thus adding the dimension of eternality. The final verse reinforces this quality: "I'm ever/ Your/ Eternal Rose." This is a masterful statement of spirituality, using imagery that is found in all of the Abrahamic religions. Well done.

Your words encompass so many emotions - the cerebral, the spiritual, the bliss and need, the penitent and.. yes, more. But 'more' than more is the far-reaching search for a Love that's pure and eternal. So, may I assume you're on a spiritual plain here. Love is giving self, not in pieces but wholly; as your beautiful poem flows start to finish maybe my thoughts tally with yours. But, in all honesty, the reader finds beauty in someone's words via a search.. so, will contain to look.. ..

External, internal, eternal beauty as the layers of this poem, like flower petals, like life from the womb. One of the most magnificent, lyrical, spiritual, magical poems I've read here. Immaculate form, flow and rhythm- curving like a woman's shape- the primal Earth Goddess- the "Eternal Rose", "Divine Presence"- " Find me when Love is not enough"- stunning images and words. I bow. I bow...

This is a very serene & spiritually filled piece of writing ~ well done LS!

The excellent word selections have touched this 'ol romantic heart of mine. I know that there are some who do think of women as flowers ~ each special in their own way, with their own beauty & aroma to offer ... such as a Daisy, Lilly, Tulip, Roses and every other flower are special in their own way.

The lay out you've chosen has also enhanced the overall presentation of this piece.

LS, thanks for sharing another well penned heartfelt piece of writing with us and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Blessings, 🙏

A most lovely write of inner calm, healing and all the beauty of the universe sharing its love ..

I really do like this serene poem... and it is much more than "Just something"
