Blackbird & the Sparrow

Blackbird & the Sparrow

A Poem by RW Erskine

Blackbird
singing a ghostly song
In daylight is hushed
Night falls
nothing else is heard
But a melody
played off key
Till along came a sparrow
to comfort thee
When all thought was lost
the music played
So very soft
as the kiss of tiny wings
on an early morning breeze.

So gracefully written. What a great coupling of black bird and sparrow. I always enjoy the steady rhyme you write with. Very nice.
