Poorly Matched

Poorly Matched

A Poem by Rachel_Biggs

I see them together,

And it kills me.

He is bound to me,

By law.

He swore he’d love me,

More than her.

He said he’d leave her.

He said for better or for,

Worse.

Well, she is

Worse.

She means nothing,

It’s only a formality,

He says.

I see the way he looks at her.

He is lying.

I see the way she looks,

She is pretty.

More than that,

She is gorgeous.

I hate him for wanting her.

I know how she looks at him,

When she doesn’t think anyone sees.

She knows something about us.

He is such a liar.

She looks so fake,

Like a doll.

I love him so much more,

Than she can.

I feel so guilty,

Sneaking around with him.

He is my cousin’s husband,

After all.

Why would my cousin take my husband,

How he could fall for her,

I don’t know.

Why would he lie to us?
