A Thousand Armies

A Thousand Armies

A Poem by Rachel
"

Spontaneous Sonnet for my Love.

"
For you my heart does so steadily beat,
Keeping time in this travel through our time,
Ticking time away in this spring tide heat,
Making my wondering, wandering rhyme.
Holding promises of golden summer,
Of glowing head and love, sweet love warm'd cheeks.
Transitions give my heart sure love further,
To hold me close through later absent weeks.
With you, at length the dark cannot touch me.
Your light holds at bay the bleak creatures that
In early days may have thus come to be.
You have manag'd to knock them all out flat.
For your love holds me up so completely
That a thousand armies could not hold me.

Author's Note

Rachel
I wrote this to my Girl over text at lunch. It just happens sometimes.
I'm sure you know that.

About
Well, I'm ever so slightly insane, to start with. In my opinion, insanity is a necessity for any artist, be they writer, singer, player, or doodle-bug. I love to write, though I often get stuck, and l.. more..
