a single note

a single note

A Poem by PianoandPage
"

this was written as a response to a 15 minute challenge to write a poem about honesty.

"

The piano is the part of me that can never lie,

all that I feel falls freely from its hammered lungs.

I touch the deepest parts of my heart when I

intertwine my fingers with it’s black and white

spine.

I crack in the beauty of a single note played

pianissimo

like a monk’s quiet breath.

The meditation of music making me

true to myself.

'falls freely from its hammered lungs' I like that thought. Black and white spine was good too. Hmmm, lovely notions.

That is beautiful. What a picture you paint here, I love the black and white spine with your fingers all intertwined like you are precisely manipulating the spine into place and it sings accordingly sometimes of pleasure and sometimes of pain and anything else inbetween :)

This was beautiful, I loved the reference to the piano. Wonderful job.

it is good to find honesty, to know that there is someplace that you can go to be all that you truly are . . . I pledge very often to be more honest with myself, to stand taller, to be more of who I am . . . and one day, I will accomplish what seems to be an impossible task
