A Poem by Rainee Whiting

June 7th 2016
A swift blow to heart and mind received as I stand in the window framed in stone. Its sill dampened from tears cried as I stood weeping, wishing... no pleading to falling stars to grant me love, life and happiness. Here as I stand in this fortress dark, it is realized that there is no Prince Charming nor a Knight in armor shining coming to rescue me from this tower. Here, in this story, in the pages of my life it is I that is to find my way from the stone walls that keep me, through the disenchanted woods that I have feared to venture through and into my happily ever after.
I am the stone tower, I am the damsel, I am the falling stars, I am the disenchanted woods, I am the heroine and I am the author of what shall come.

I liked the above lines. I could write a epic tale from this short poem. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.
