the other side...

the other side...

A Poem by Rain
"

This is a piece you can take alot of ways. :)

"
i wish i was on the other side
that's where all my fortune lies
over there...and away from here
everything is oh so clear
on the other side

you take mary
i'll take sue
i know what she means to you
hand in hand we'll sail along
to that place where all have gone
to the other side

aint' no reason to hang around
been down every street in town
don't need money
don't need fame
hope somebody knows my name
on the other side

oh i could be...what ever i could be
and i... can do...
whatever I wanted... to do
is love true...

come with me
where the grass is green
and the clouds float by
like a summers dream
i've seen all i need to see
let's walk the shores of a distant sea
on the other side
i'll take my chances
leave it all behind
just to find...what i may find
it's always beautiful...over there
got no worries...got no care
on the other side

oh i can be... what ever i can be
and i...can do...
what ever i wanted... to do
is love true...
on the other side

I really liked it, it is indeed so thoughtful and I guess most of us can relate ourselves with it!
This is indeed the truth of life and I'm glad that you wrote something upon this idea of life...
Also, I loved the way you have written it and I'm sure it will make a great song lyric!
Great work, as always :)

I heard your voice singing these words. And I know that your love is true. And that the glory you find on the other side will be the greatest adventure you've ever known. And I guess you've known some.

Love ya, Ray.

Wow that is so good. The flow is perfect and I like the fact that it come's off like a great song. It has the power of a otis reding tune. Ray do you have a book out? Because if you do I would love to order it.

Sweet Ray, this could be kinda like a song. It just seemed to flow from the tip of my tongue so well. Lots of people can relate to this and yes, take it in more than one way! Going to say I'm guilty of looking for the other side so many days... I think we all have. It's our freedom a place to runaway from it all and never look back. Awesome!

I can definitely see this as a great song. You should get this to a singer and have them put this to music. I love the way in which you expressed the exasperation with the daily battles of life. I think we all feel like this at some point or another. The other side seems like the ulimate escape. One we yearn for and fear at the same time. Added to favs.

Very catchy write... I could see this put to music... it's fun but with strong words of independence.

This played in my head like a song being sung. And of course I could hear you singing as I have heard you sing before. I have a great memory locked away so I can enjoy it anytime I need to smile.

Great Job!!!!!!

Rain I like this and it reflects the type of thought I find creeps up on me in my sixties. Its about seeing the finishing line I suppose. Really gets the mind cogs going. Well done!
