Who Am I

Who Am I

A Poem by Raisa

Will you believe it if I told you I am a dream catcher,
I watch your dreams while you sleep,
and if I like it, I make them mine...

Will you believe it if I told you, I am a thief,
I steal everyday to survive,
That look of disgust when you see your manager walking in,
That hint of guilt when you don't pay the beggar banging your window sill,
That texture of longing, when you see children indulge,
I steal those moments you forget about and I survive.

Will you believe if I told you, I am a nuisance,
I disturb and distract you to endure,
That scribbling you tore out of your notebook,
That little word that stuck to your head from a long lecture,
That squeamish feeling on your consistently wet big toe on a rainy afternoon.

Will you?
I would tell you who I am, If only you would believe it.
but you wouldn't, believe,
so I wouldn't divulge
Who I am
like the notepad you closed without saving...
