Sojourn - You

Sojourn - You

A Poem by Raja
"

It is a compilation of several poems, rain, et al. Sometimes we are jubilant to find lost love, while sometimes we could not keep it for fear of missing it once again. Sojourn demonstrates the different phases of love one has encountered in life.

"

You

You are like you
You seem to do this
You seem to do that
you are like you

I never said to you
To be like me
Only, I begged a lot to
Realize the pain that
You caused being
Only you and you

I never said to you
To act and preach
What I would say.
Only, urged to make you
Feel what I would feel
Without you adjusting
With me

I never said to
Enforce something
On you.
Only, questioned you
What if, I would lose my
Words, would you lend me
Yours the way I required?

I never said to you
To lose yourself
Only, cried to you
To see what other couples
Do in times,
When one of them
Necessitated the acceptance
Of the either one
To let them be called
‘Made for each other’!

I never said to change
Yourself.
Only, requested you
Not to try to change me too,
But to feel me deeply
As I couldn’t change myself too

I never said to make
Yourself the other you
Only, said to mix
With me so that I
Can be called truly for you…

This poem is very true. So many people in life are either so selfish and into themselves, or they completely don't know who they are and try to pretend they do. You don't know who you are until you can be comfortable with what you say, what you wear, what you do, etc. in front of other people. What I love about your poem is that the speaker is not trying to change the other person, but just wants the other person to accept and be open-minded about different personalities/life-styles. Great job, thanks.

I am enjoying this series that you titled "Sojourn."

Sojourn, a brief stay to rest and re...connect, energize, flect.

Isn't it funny how some people seem to go through life seeing only themselves? While others never figure out who they are... hmmm.

I have learned that relationship is never a 50/50 deal. Each giving half to make a whole. It is so much more costly than that. Sometimes we lose ourselves in the deal as we give our all in the process of loving someone. If we are lucky they give all they have in return, and instead of being lost we realize we are finally home.

Thanks Raja

This was a beautiful self seeking and seeking the balance between him and her, we women love to let our possibilies open and sometimes we try to change the other one instead of to leave. For everything is just right, how it is. We learn with life, our waves are breaking on the shore. I liked !!

This poem has so many things going on/(for it)
I love the tone, I love the very powerful semantics, the fact that willingly or not, many can relate to, if not all, some parts of it. This is very good.
