Survived Burdens

Survived Burdens

A Poem by Silent Serenity also known as Raven Shadows

Survived by his storms, etched within red-bruised eyes
Marked deep of the anguish, that within soul lies
For his vindictive words, once more wounded deep
With schemes of deception, which his mind does steep.....

Fueling his insecurities, lies and jealousies
Makes him incapable of love’s intimacies
You bear your burdens with such unspoken grace
Hiding them, behind fixed smiles upon your face.....

For sake of the children, conceived in glorious days
Continue to put up with his controlling ways
And you don’t want others, to start pitying you
Your red-bruised eyes, raw pain plain to view.....

Frivolous banter won’t lessen the hurt
You want to be held, as warm tears wet my shirt....

Beautifully written, you capture all of the emotion so perfectly. The reader feels not only sympathy for the subject of this poem but also imagines the pain and sorrow and that is felt by the subject. You painted a picture that reaches out and grabs readers from the start. Fantastic job once again.

My Rating: 100/100

This is definitely a great poem about betrayal and living in misery to protect the children. Full of emotions that are heartfelt. Well done.

Life is hard, sometimes unbearable.People live in misery so that their children can have security. But I know from personal experience to stay in that kind of situation is worst for them. You have portrayed this most excellently.
