Sons and Daughters

Sons and Daughters

A Poem by RavenWells
"

In honor of the children of Newton, Connecticut.

"
Today the nation cried,
for her lost sons and daughters.
Taken not by some foreigner,
but by one who was born on this soil.
Why do we spend such time
away fighting in distant lands?
When the true fight lies at home,
against demons in disguise.
Weep for the lost souls,
stolen before their time.
And always remember their smiles
as they peer down from the stars.

Yes, the biggest danger is the one you take for granted.

No problem :)
Thank you for the tribute to the lost, innocent souls. This is such a sad story. The monster of this person who did this shouldn't have. People were traumatized, people died. "Why do we spend such time away fighting in distant lands? When the true fight lies at home, against demons in disguise." This line is so true. War is pointless, our real trouble is those who do things irrationally and with harm of others in mind. It breaks my heart that someone just had killing in mind. Didn't matter who it was, the CHILDREN are dead. It makes no sense. Thanks again for writing this sweet poem. Yes, may they rest in peace.
