chosen choice

my pitiful projections have fallen short

far from perfection like an ill struck chord

i sneer at reflections to see only void

i need no protection i made my choice

to choose a choice with cold rasped voice

twisted fragments of half closed doors

shattered glasses that were once half full 

melted candles that can burn no more

sweet surrender at its core

a shining light from a cold dark place 

a distant man who has no face

a cold wet breeze to embrace 

one lone tear a life wont change

Good meter and rhyme. Every choice is a gateway to a new you. Sometimes, the gate opens on a dark and haunted wood where we have to fight our way back to the light. Your poem captures that struggle.
