Four Hour Conversations

A poem about a long distance relationship

Romance wasn't part of the equation 

Friendship was the core 

It was simply platonic conversation 

Until it became more 

I didn't see it coming 

Neither did you 

Then it hit us like a ton of bricks 

It changed so quick

Friends were now love sick 

Suddenly my heart told me to choose 

So I chose the life of constant travel 

Of lonely nights 

And doubtful days 

I chose the life of constant waiting 

With distractions here 

And fantasies there 

I chose the life of perfect love 

I chose the life of perfect trust

Whenever I doubt 

You reassure 

I chose the life of perfect us 

Romance wasn't part of the equation

But since that four hour conversation 

You've given me so much more

friends can become lovers after some private situations they share such as the four hour conversation in your poem. but unfortunately, as soon as they become lovers, they can never be back to friendship if love doesnt work...they can either live together as lovers or nothing. great work. i have really enjoyed it

those two stanzas grip this one into play...and the rest carries this verse...I liked the smoothness of it all...and the reality is much...I see this was not intend to be a real scenario...sounds convincing enough to me...
