Real

Real

A Poem by Redherring
"

It was a bad day today.

"

A dark hate clouds my perception.
Or does it?
Is what I see truly real?
I pray to God it's just my infinite paranoia.

Are these images real?
Is the mirror my enemy?
The food my poison?
The scale my noose?

It sure as hell feels like it.

I question everything I see.
Am I seeing what is real or what I am told is real?
What is the true reality?
Or even my own reality?
Something beautiful? dark? ugly? harsh? fantastic?

The complexity and uncertainty plagues my mind and my actions.
I franticly search for answers or fuel for change.
Nothing substansial steps forward.
I fear there are no answers.
I want to see what is real through my own eyes.
Not some mutilated vision concieved by a warped mind.
Not falsey wise words spoken by the foolish masses.

Not a beautiful lie.

Not a wishful thought.
Just something indisputably, unequivocally, and completely real.

About
I have a lot of things to say to the world. As much as I'd love to be able to bring about peace and harmony and prosperity for everyone I just don't have that power. I have grown sick and tired of sup.. more..
