Ode to Edgewood

Ode to Edgewood

A Poem by D.O. Jones

A silent, peaceful, little lane
Shimmering from recent rain
All silent except for a chirp of a bird
All of a sudden, out of the fog
A person begins to appear
The animals come to peer
Why is someone out on the chilly day
Some go back and hide
Some stand around and stay
A long while later the person comes out
He pauses a few minutes
Then goes back to the fire inside
The animals, all in their beds
Mull over the seen over in their heads
