A Poem by Zeitgeist Manifesto

lost in translation

In my eyes
love was a noun
an immeasurable
thing that simply was

And love to you
was a verb
a thing that
people do

So even though
I had the correct

You could give me no credit
without showing my work

And once it seemed
that we were enemies

There was nothing
you could say
to convince me otherwise

Some give their all and some merely "do"...once respect fades it is hard to give the all anymore, sigh...this is superb :)

Thanks alot.
Appreciate the review!
Wow, wow, and wow. The simple complexity of this poem is just amazing. So many great thoughts -- that some people believe love is just an immutable force, and others believe it is something you do -- it is so absolutely true, and explains the disconnect in so many relationships. ``````

Thanks a lot for the visit.
I Appreciate the review.
logaoedic, love is, Zietgeist. Marked by the mixture of several rhythms. Patience, which true love is,
is a noun. But patient is an adjective, not hasty or impetuous, which love is also. There is a
wonderful interplay of time and tense going on here. The beginning, the conditional-emotional
present, and the contrite, overbearing past.....

beautifully written my friend....dana

-- ohhhhhhhh... this is a bazooka... -- R., you smashed all the glass in my building... -- sometimes we lose the universe of bliss which is almost within reach because of our choice of words (rather perspectives)... and we turn into the worst enemies of those we supposedly love... -- can there really be a ferocious argument about the definition of love ? ... i guess so... and it could turn ugly and nasty... -- i don't think i could ever calculate the 'quantity' of love though... it's too abstract a concept for me... -- excellent work... one of your best pieces i think...

Writing....Thinking.... Most of my pieces are imagined as monologues. I've been a fan ever since I first saw my first live show as a kid. I consider myself pretty abstract. more..
