HOUR GLASS

HOUR GLASS

A Poem by Rene Velez

I have written so many I can't keep count.
So many things I've committed to,
waist deep in the hour glass.

Freight trains of thought.
Still pictures of worthiness.
Moments that strike like whips.
All, in the mercy of words.

Swirls of color fighting against
a well of moving black,
Answers in neutral greys.
The transparency of red.

Silent songs for the sun,
applause by the coming Moon.

I have written so many I can't keep count.
So many things I've committed to,
waist deep in my hour glass.
