PRAYER FLAGS

PRAYER FLAGS

A Poem by Rene Velez

We are children,
no matter the age,
children of the universe,
small we may be,
a universe within you,
a universe within me,

there are no rules,
nothing to tether us
to this Earthly way,
yet we must stay,
they say we must pray,

to Gods with no ears,
to lessen the fears
of eternal release,
to be at peace but
peace comes from within,

prayer flags in the wind
seeking the purest light,
to purge the sin, renew,
and begin again,

life, the circle
of enlightenment,
free from imprisonment...
in the search for our Zen.
