Hospital Bed

Hospital Bed

A Poem by Rhonda

She looks at the clock

Time has caught up to her

The life that she lived was fantastic

She had two sons and a daughter

They all grew up healthy and happy

They had children

Bright children

She looks at her photo album in her bed in the hospital

She smiles from the photos of her children as kids

She cries

Not sad tears, but happy tears

All of those memories are still in her heart

Her husband was the best

She looks at his picture

"Why did he have to go?" she thought

She cried sad tears now

She prepares for her time to go away

She's ready for it after all of her battles

After her hair loss

After finding out the disease she has

She starts to feel tired

She decides to go to sleep

"My life was a great one" she thinks in her head

That night, she perished

She was ready

She accepted the fact that she would die soon

She accpted the fact that she had cancer almost all of her life

Oh wow. I could tell this was about dying from cancer. If this doesn't make anyone feel sad then they aren't human.

A very sad poem, but it still has a optimistic wistfulness about it. As one nears death, he/she remembers the good times, and the happy times.

One correction, in line 5, "growed" should be "grew"

This is all to sad. When we die, our minds flash with regrets and that is hard to witness. You show that and so much more in this poem. Great job:)

A sad poem. My mother had lost her best friends of youth to cancer. One was my babysitter. I sat with her. She accepted her death. Her kids had a hard time of course. Poem describe a sad scene in a life. A excellent poem of the sadness of real life.
