I partake thee

with eyes that see

a brand-new world,

your joys unfurled

that hold all life

devoid of strife.

My sad-eyed girl,

this heart's a'whirl,

I pull you close...

you do engross

bright wonder of

yon stars above,

all worlds to come,

in promise from

sweet innocence.

Pure truth evince

for all to see

where we shall be;

oh, life's warm glow,

'pon us bestow.

So, Dear, hold me,

love's set us free

in your sweet arms'

embracing charms.

Reach into me...

then, you will see,

this heart beats fair

with You in there.

richard,
I found my self bearing the reality of how the foundation of our world is upon the shoulders and hearts of every young college student and young adult. They are just beginning to find love, to find career and employment paths; their lives before them. We hold them in hope and good wishes for their futures. They will love, find spouses, build homes and families. Love will be there hope as it has been ours.

I am so grateful for the things I learn here at the cafe ... and as an Irish Scott Highlander these kinds of lessons remind me how much I have missed in my education :) wonderful strong closing says I! couplets 11 and 13 have same rhyme ;) did you consider something different? this is a form that is brand new to me so had to acquaint myself with the flow ..thank you for that .. it is going into my bag of to do for sure .. and your very classic romance is evident throughout ...

How wonderfully delightful to see you this on day, Gene! : )
Even though I've learned and composed in over 200 poetic forms, it's been posed to me that there are over a thousand … so, I've much to lean, too, My Very Fine Friend.
Then, I, also, have learned much from those on the Café, mostly by the challenges of teaching that seems to require unique efforts creating original ideas and techniques in producing adequate understandings and needs for those who've come seeking, to more easily grasp my (often) rather odd poetical inferences … LOL!
The see's and me's repeats (though beyond the usual pale) were by design, intended to keep the presence of them alive throughout as a sort of anchor/a tether, if you will, to assure readers will not wander too far astray by virtue of the quick-paced, oft-varied format, and to maintain a consistent ease of flowing rhyme scheme … even while knowing you, a devoted technical aficionado (and those akin), will surely pick up on this rather unique anomaly, but it is common in this form to resort to such. When you compose your Cywydd Devair Fyrion, you may choose another (more original?) manner of accomplishing this.

It seems time stands still in the poem as the lover recites these verses to a beloved and she lifts her beautiful face to embrace each and every one of them. Your magic works to perfection Richard. Ummm, a beautifully writ poem filled with romanticism and the “The Lady of Shallot” painting is a perfect selection for this piece.
